Leslie Bangamba

My name is Leslie Bangamba and I'm a proud mother of three children! I was thrust into Child Advocacy after a traumatic incident involving mhy then eighteen month old daughter Amélie! Unbeknownst to myself she has ingested a lithium coin battery that ruptured her esophagus, trachea, aorta, and carotid left artery. She also suffered a stroke and had subdural bleeding on the left side of her brain. My daughter surviving this incident is a miracle I do not take lightly which is also the reason I now advocate to inform parents and caregivers! Since entering this space as a content creator  I realized there was a real lack of black advocates, let content Child Safety. Winning this scholarship would assist me in further telling our story, amplifying child safety, and amplifying black voices.
