Lydia Hol

Since 2012 Lydia Hol has worked as a professional musician, releasing three critically acclaimed albums, and touring Canada and Europe extensively. She has been an artist in residence in Austin, TX, Lulea Sweden, Cardiff Wales, and The Banff Centre for the Arts. Alongside pursuing a career in music, Hol's love of film led her to work for The Vancouver International Film Festival from 2017-2020, managing their 'VIFF AMP' and 'Creative Engagement' programs, which focus on the intersection between film and music. Hol began making documentary films during the pandemic, with her first film 'Sound Sculptures' funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, and currently in final production. It follows Vancouver percussionist Ben Brown as he reimagines city sculptures as percussive instruments.
